Are you a liberal (democrat) or a conservative (republican)?

I'm a moderate conservative. I can be left on some issues. I against abortion in normal cases but not against gay marriage. I like medicare. I'm very environmental. But I think we should spend more on the military. More space exploration too.

I consider myself a moderate conservative as well.  I lean toward the right on most issues, but not all.  I'd rather not mention any specific issues at this time.

Moonwalker16,
I try to keep politics out of my profession and my play.  You should take this quiz and this will determine where you stand: http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html

Most North Americans consider me ultra-liberal: that's what you get from living in the Netherlands :P

I was Right, but pretty close to the Centrist line.

I was slightly Right-Authoritarian, but very close to the center.

Try again.  It didn't work for me the first time either.

Liberal Libertarian on the first, the second doesn't work for me either.

Edit: the second link can also be found at http://www.digitalronin.f2s.com/politicalcompass/index.php. Result:

Economic Left/Right: -6.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.97

The second one doesnt work for me (any of them) the first one had me a far left liberal.  I agree, although I border on what some Americans might call socialist (I stress that I am NOT communist or any such thing, although, come to think of it, I dont have a problem with true commies).

On the border between Liberal & Libertarian which is pretty much where I figured I'd be.

I tested extreme Conservative Libertarian on the first, and moderately Authoritative Conservative (4.13 1.38), on the second test.  I have always considered my self Conservative Libertarian.  Politicians I admire include the late Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.  I consider President Bush a moderate.

I am "small c" Conservative, AND a "small r Republican", I combine these deliberately. I used to consider myself a "centrist", but since the early 80's I am confused as to what that might mean. I haven't voted Liberal at the Federal and Provincial level, ever. Maybe I should look at the quiz. I believe in peace through strength, and their should be a large portcullis on the border of Canada, to skew those that, are let in for `any old reason'. Enough. So there!
G
ps took the compass poll, -5.25 to economic left, social libertarian -0.10 hmmm, I guess I am still somewhat `liberal'. which sounds about right, er correct! ha ha
