could we live on the moon?

i watched this programme and NASA plan to have people back on the moon by 2020 which i think would be cool but is it better to explore mars and not just sort of retrace are steps . mars is a world of different experiences , materials another life form perhaps. :yoda:.  :D

ALSO.
          it may be an air less world but on this programme they would build something like a pod you know like a house . there would be a redesighned lunar rover . modified space suits that are attached to this pod thing and you walk into them. and it said something like the coffee you drank yesterday would be in the soup i seen it before so couldnt be botheredn to listen again.  :yoda:. :D :D
