Good Aerospace Engineering foundation books?
« on: July 13, 2006, 12:36:00 AM »
I've just graduated high school and am studying Aerospace Engineering this coming September. I've studied advanced placement physics and advanced placement chemistry sucessfuly(A/B) but i don't think that the subjects stuck very well. Currently I'm taking a Calculus I course and no struggles there...in fact i've almost finished the textbook (the textbook encompasses Calc I,II,III). I'm looking for a textbook that can prepare me throughouly for the Fall semester so that I am not only prepared, but also somewhat advanced (no kids stuff!) Any suggestions??..thanks in advance.

In my Intro to Aero class at Univ. of Michigan, we used "Introduction to Flight" by John D. Anderson, Jr.  I've still got the 3rd edition, though I'm sure it's been updated since.  I thought it was a great book for explaining the concepts at the freshman/sophomore level and is a good reference as well.
