Fine,
I will the ask the question.
What is the name of the movie in which China tunnels under the ocean to the U.S. and plants nuclear weapons under cities?

Whomever answer the question correctly receives an autographed "Red Book" from Mao Tse-Tung.

I actually liked the series Odyssey 5.  Let's see if anyone else watched it:

1. What unforeseen event occured while the Shuttle was in orbit?

2. When is a Moon rock not a Moon rock?

3. Who played the mission commander, Chuck Taggart.  Name three other science fiction movies he has starred in.

Sorry Don....If it wasn't on Rogers basic cable (boo Rogers) I didn't see it. Heck I've never heard of it.

In case I'm not alone in this situation I'll supply you with an alternate question.

Name the actor that appeared in very popular film (it's known by only four numbers), that appeared with Mariette Hartly in another film written based on an idea for a story by a man who created a television franchise. It was a pilot for a series - it didn't make the cut.

Sorry for butting in like this.

I only saw one episode of Odyssey 5 but it looked interesting. Now that it is on DVD I might check it out.

1. The Earth exploded
2. I don't know this one
3. Peter Weller - Robocop, Screamers, Leviathan

Nice and cryptic!

Okay . . .

Popular film with four numbers = 2001
Man who created a television franchise = Gene Roddenberry
Failed ideas of said guy including Mariette Hartley = Earth II

SO - possible answer is Gary Lockwood!

Thank you for the compliment. Earth II was originally an idea Gene Roddenberry put forth in a script that didn't sell. However the idea of a space station was the seed of this failed pilot that was broadcast on ABC in 1972.

Gary Lockwood is indeed the answer.

If we are going to do away with the turn based format, as discussed here, shouldn't the next question be up for grabs to whoever wants it?  If not, the next turn should go to whoever answers Don's last question (reply #438) since it was asked in turn.

My mistake Bob. Post/question #438 hasn't been answered yet. Ok folks, here is the question to answer.
