If your boss is a space nut like the rest of us I'm sure he'll understand.

Here she sat on the pad today- little hazy due to wind whipping up spray across the lagoon.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2006
1459 GMT (9:59 a.m. EST)
SCRUB! Today's launch attempt has been called off. The New Horizons mission control center at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory suffered a power outage this morning. The backup system using generators is not sufficient to proceed with the launch. So the first mission to Pluto will remain on Earth for another day.
Tomorrow's launch window extends from 1:08 to 3:07 p.m. EST

Darn.
At least tomorrow's launch is scheduled for before I have to go to work.

I merged the two threads we had going about New Horizons. Hopefully I didn't confuse anyone too much.

No- we were waiting for you to do that! Â
Anyway, no escape from work today so tomorrow suits me just fine- weather is still pretty vicious down here. Â Apparently there will be a meeting at 4PM EST today to determine if they will try again tomorrow.
BTW- here's a great little article on the lightning protection towers you see on all the pads:

The New Horizons count down is now in the built-in hold at T-2 hours. So far everything is looking good. Scheduled launch is 1:08 PM EST (18:08 GMT).

was it me, or did the seperation of the lower port booster look funky? It seemed to turn nose-inward....For a moment I was scared it was going to hit the rest of the stack...
