Tonight I finally viewed Astronauts Gone Wild after downloading the video from a bit torrent site, as was mentioned previously. In fact, he does indeed show footage of Ed Mitchell swearing on his Bible. Not only does Mitchell take him up on his demand, but Gene Cernan also testifies on camera that he did walk on the moon on Apollo 17. Of course, Sibrel would like us to concentrate more on the actions of the astronauts who brushed him off and refused his demand. Alan Bean is shown placing his hand on the Bible, but then refusing to follow through due to Sibrel's "penalty of treason" requirement. Neil Armstrong has a memorable line as well: "Knowing you, Mr. Sibrel, that's probably a fake Bible." The last encounter shown is with Mitchell, who says emphatically, "I will personally take you to court if you follow through on this," before giving him a kick in the rear end. Sibrel also makes the point that Bean and Cernan contradict each other when talking about the sound from the LM's descent engine. Bean said that the engine could not be heard inside the cockpit, while Cernan said he could hear the engine.
But in the end, although Sibrel loves to point to the astronauts who brushed him off and told him to get lost as evidence that they were in on a conspiracy, he contradicts himself by showing his footage of Mitchell and Cernan. Two prominent Apollo figures did appease him, did swear on the Bible, and yet he markets his DVD on the grounds that the astronauts have something to hide. Sibrel should be given credit for making an amusing video, but 53 minutes later my opinion of the man just went down a couple more notches. Gene Cernan, in my opinion, treated him with the most class of any of the astronauts. He said it best when he said something to the effect of "You can show that video anywhere, anytime." If any of you want to see this video, I recommend it as a free download but I strongly recommend to avoid giving him your money. Â
